As a Support Worker you will be assisting people with a Learning Disability & Physical Disabilities to live the life they want. You will provide safe, person centred support to promote independent living skills and help make a client’s hopes and wishes a reality. The people we support have told us they are looking for people to support them who are fun to be with and have a good sense of humour to help them become more independent and achieve what they need when they need it.
We need someone who can provide excellent and flexible support & advice in Fareham and Gosport and the surrounding areas. As a Support Worker you will assist clients to find work or volunteering opportunities, access education at local colleges, get involved in community events, as well as helping with budgeting, support with personal care, cooking and cleaning and maintaining a home.
As a Mobile Disability Support Worker you will provide an excellent and flexible support service to our clients as you are needed within our Disabilities Services across Fareham and Gosport, as well as New Forest, East Hampshire and Winchester . This will involve you being adaptable to work in whichever service in this locality you are required at, either on a short term planned rota, to cover periods of annual leave for example, or sometimes to fill unplanned shifts as they arise. As such it is essential that you are willing to travel, you have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
We are looking for people to support our clients who are fun, with a good sense of humour, who will help our clients to be more independent and achieve their goals. This could include sailing, swimming gardening, going to the cinema or theatre, going out for meals and lots of other leisure activities. This will also include support with gaining daily life skills such as personal care, medication, shopping cooking, keeping their house clean and support to budget and not get into debt. We need someone who is hardworking, reliable, polite, friendly and respectful.
