Today, we’d like to take a look back at 2025, and the amazing work our teams did. Each year we work with thousands of people to empower them to live their best lives. This might be through support, direct interventions or by helping them make contacts in their community.
People supported between 2024-2025
So much happens during the year, that it’s easy to forget all that we’ve done! Which is why we create these round up videos each year. Of course, we blog about what we do, but again, there is so much it’s difficult to cover it all! Today we’re taking a walk through 2025, and revisiting some moments.
A look back at 2025: Why it matters
Each year, we take part in and celebrate events that happen nationally and internationally. We do this for many reasons, but one of the most important is to raise awareness about serious issues that affect people everywhere.
For example, 16 Days of Activism takes place every November. This international campaign runs from 25 November to 10 December, ending on Human Rights Day, and aims to end violence against women and girls. With technology advancing rapidly in every aspect of our lives, this was an excellent opportunity to highlight what is acceptable—and what isn’t—when using online platforms. It’s about creating safer spaces both offline and online. And as a charity that helps those experiencing domestic abuse, we’d like to use our platform to spread that information. Telling the stories of the survivors we work with is incredibly powerful.
Other events focus on breaking down misconceptions. Take Learning Disability Week, which in 2025 ran from 16 to 23 June. This week is dedicated to showing the world that people with learning disabilities are active, valuable members of our communities. They work, have fun, build relationships, and experience life just like everyone else. It’s a time to celebrate inclusion and challenge stereotypes.
By participating in these events, we help amplify important messages, foster understanding, and create positive change. Awareness is the first step toward action—and together, we can make a difference.
Community engagement
Working with out communities is part of our DNA. We believe that by working together, we can improve people’s wellbeing, and ultimate happiness. So, when people from our community ask if they can help, we try our best to always say yes!
Last year Daryl, an ex-solider and firefighter did a one thousand kilometre ‘Tri-Marathon’ to raise money for our counselling service in Portsmouth, which was absolutely incredible.
Business stepping up
We’re very fortunate to have amazing friends out there. So many companies offered their time and resources to help the people we work with we don’t know how to say thank you! For example, Zurich Insurance, Navera, Bibby Finances, Ageas, Cotality and Lightening Safety Systems offered either the time of their staff to help renovate refuges, gardens or office space, or generously donated money.
