Each year, we take time to recognise and celebrate the incredible dedication of our professional care workers. And this year is no exception. They are the heart of our services, bringing skill, compassion, and resilience to every person they support. Their work uplifts communities, empowers individuals, and reflects the very best of what care should be.
As a large charity, we’re proud to employ around 757 support workers across a wide range of services, including:
- Care and Support
- Community Wellbeing
- Paragon (Domestic Abuse Services)
- Counselling and Therapeutic Support
From 2024 to 2025, we received 28,585 referrals into our services. A testament to the trust placed in our teams and the scale of their impact. Our care workers make a profound difference every single day. Daily, they support individuals with learning disabilities, offering refuge to families escaping domestic abuse, or providing emotional support through counselling. They are amazing!
Director Phil Freed, who himself was a premier crew and support worker in both learning disabilities and young lives, has some words of thanks:
I’d like to say thank you to all the support workers we have across every area we operate. You show an extraordinary level of professionalism while doing one of the hardest jobs out there. What you do improves lives, strengthens communities, and reminds us why this work matters
Professional Care Workers Week is more than a moment of recognition. It’s a celebration of the values that drive our sector: empathy, integrity, and unwavering commitment. Our support workers don’t just provide care; they build trust, foster independence, and create safe spaces where people can thrive.
To every care worker in our organisation: thank you. You make us proud to be part of this mission.
