Circles of Support

We work with people to identify and build their circle of support, which may be friends, family, colleagues, or supporters who form a group, supporting the person to make their own decisions about their life. YOU works in partnership with The EC Roberts Centre and HOPE Portsmouth to support people in crisis in our community.

We can help with:

  • Emergency food aid
  • Benefit delays/sanctions
  • Debt/low pay trap/no savings
  • Unemployment
  • Relationship breakdowns
  • Domestic abuse
  • Homelessness
  • Illness/disability
  • Food/fuel poverty
  • Digital exclusion
  • Literacy/numeracy skills

The Circle of Support Partners help people through outreach or at the 6 main Food Banks across Portsmouth. We have a warm approach and talk with people as one human being to another. A full assessment will be completed. Together, we will agree a support plan that focuses on the person and creates a personal circle of support to include family, friends, community members, and agencies as appropriate.
