Learning with YOU

February 11, 2022

Learning with YOU is not only easy, it’s encouraged. We offer a variety of different apprenticeships to help improve your career skillsets.

My name is Andrei and I’ve been a Learning and Development Partner for YOU since 2019. I’m responsible for introducing new initiatives into the organisation. I ensure leading edge, cost effective learning solutions are available to staff, workers and volunteers.

We work with education/training providers, like Fareport Training, The Skills Network and Learning Curve, who offer qualification/ apprenticeship programmes. Together we deliver support to make sure staff are qualified to appropriate social care standards.

Lots of our staff would like to undertake an apprenticeship. However, some worry that because they have to do function skills (like math) they may struggle. For many it’s been over a decade since they last studied. This can put some people off. But we will help you! Younger staff members are concerned about university costs so they prefer to undertake an apprenticeship with us.

Usually an apprenticeship program can take between 14 to 18 months for a level 2 or 3, where a level 4 or 5 can take more than 24 months.

Read more about our apprenticeships

The advantage of undertaking an apprenticeship is that you can earn a wage while learning and becoming qualified in a specific sector. This is useful if you do not have the thousands of pounds that most university courses expect you to pay.

Learning through an apprenticeship

We’ll get right to it: some of our programmes have minimum entry requirements, others don’t. But that just means no matter what qualifications you’ve got, we might have an apprenticeship that’s exactly right for you!

Maybe you’re about to leave college. Or perhaps you’re unemployed. You might want to completely change career. You could have a disability, or a condition that makes it harder to find work, for any reason. Whoever you are, one thing’s for sure: if you’re ready for that next step, there’s more to discover. There’s more to become.

70% of our apprentices have achieved a Distinction with the rest receiving a Merit.

Social isolation: Finding a purpose again

Social isolation: Finding a purpose again

Social prescribing, or forms of it, date back to the 80s, but it wasn't widely practised nationwide. In recent years though the NHS has embraced it at a national level. But what is 'Social Prescribing'? Simply put, it's help that doesn't come in a bottle or in the...
