We celebrate Neurodivergent Week each year to raise awareness and celebrate those we work with. Helping people who want to work is really important, and many take their ability to do interviews for granted. Our service helps with more than just interviews though. We help with writing of CVs, searching for jobs, and even taking public transport to their new job.
Workwise is an employment service that supports adults who have a learning disability and/or who are autistic find work. It’s not just about finding work though, it’s about sustaining employment through continued support.
Jemma was referred to the Workwise Service by the Job Centre. Jemma, who is autistic, wanted support to find a part-time paid job working with children. She had worked before, but had found sustaining a job difficult due to her anxiety and mental health.

Workwise supported Jemma to look at confidence-building courses, putting a cover letter together and interview preparation. Workwise liaised with the Job Centre and a training provider about a short course to support people who want to work in the NHS. After Jemma completed the two-week course, Workwise supported Jemma in preparing for an interview for a healthcare assistant role. Jemma had the interview and successfully got a part-time role as a healthcare assistant within the NHS! Conrgatulations, Jemma!
Workwise has helped me feel positive about what I can do with my life and how even with my issues I CAN achieve getting a job
