Creating outdoor spaces that empower is the goal of our Big Push event!
At our charity, we are dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities, physical difficulties, and associated conditions to live independently in their own homes. Through assisted living, tailored support, and personalised enablement, we’ve helped hundreds of people lead fulfilling, confident lives within their communities.
The Big Push
This year on 9 May, we’re excited to launch The Big Push, an initiative designed to raise awareness of the work we do and to generate vital funds for a project close to our hearts.
At Eastrop Park in Basingstoke on Saturday 9 May, clients from three of our residences will be meeting up to take part in a fun race around the pond. We’ll be offering some light refreshments and information on the services that our charity, offers. Bring your family and friends and show your support for our lovely clients by sponsoring us.
Our goal is simple but impactful: to create beautiful, accessible outdoor spaces that enrich the lives of the people we support.
For many of our residents who use wheelchairs, having a safe and inviting garden right outside their home can make a world of difference. Access to fresh air, nature, and outdoor relaxation shouldn’t be a luxury, it should be part of everyday wellbeing.
Why outdoor spaces matter
We believe in creating environments where people can explore, connect, and thrive at their own pace. We want to create spaces designed with thoughtful features that stimulate the senses and promote calm, curiosity, and enjoyment. We’ve got a sensory garden at another residence in our Serpentine residence.
Money raised will go towards:
- A sensory garden at Darlington Road in Basingstoke
- High ‘Trough’ wheelchair friendly planters.
- Gardening equipment to enable everyone to get growing
- Trips out to beautiful gardens and parks to provide inspiration
- Help with the costs of attending gardening clubs.
For the people we support, these experiences can be uplifting, empowering, and deeply meaningful.
Looking ahead
With summer just around the corner, we’re aiming to begin work on these gardens in June. We’re incredibly excited to bring this vision to life, and we’ll be sharing updates and progress with you every step of the way. The Big Push is more than a fundraising effort. It’s a chance to build joyful, inclusive places that celebrate independence, wellbeing, and the simple pleasure of being outdoors.
Thank you for supporting our mission. Together, we can create spaces that transform everyday moments into opportunities for growth, happiness, and connection.
