Hi, my name is Caroline and I am The YOU Trust’s nominated Arts champion on the Board of Trustees. I wanted to share that I met some amazing managers while visiting some of our residential homes, with brilliantly enthusiastic teams. They were keen, like me, to explore the power of creative arts to help their clients/residents.
Healing in the arts
Research has shown that engaging in any creative process is healing. Whether you make a sketch in your drawing pad, choreograph dance moves to your favourite song or spend some time learning a new instrument. The arts can help lower stress and anxiety, make you feel calmer and more relaxed and can give you a sense of accomplishment.
