Today is our last profile to celebrate National Trustees week. We asked Saif Mohammad what motivated him to join us. He also tells use about his love of rollercoasters!
Trustees week: Saif Mohammad
What attracted you to becoming a Trustee?
I am already part of a small charity and I am always looking for ways to give back to the community. Being a trustee will allow me to contribute and make a difference in society as well as learn new skills.
Why did you choose The YOU Trust?
The YOU Trust is in a way unique and also aligns with the principles I personally believe in. The You Trust promotes a culture of inclusion, respect for individuals and is always thinking of ways to giving back.
What have you learnt so far?
Induction day was very good. I learned about what YOU do, the areas of coverage, the different types of work and, mostly importantly, how YOU encourage new ideas to be shared. I have quickly learned on day one how YOU promotes a ‘doing’ attitude.
What is your favourite holiday location and why?
My holidays are mostly about going to my home country, meeting family and friends, as well as going around various places within UK. Some memorable moments I can think of are when I used to go to theme parks with the elder daughter where I am pushed to try all the exciting and new rides. I hate to admit that I love those rides!
