Essential Requirements
The ideal Counsellor will have:
A Counselling Diploma (minimum level)
At least 1 years’ experience of working with sexual assault survivors
At least 1 years’ experience facilitating groups
The ability to work flexible hours: including evenings and weekends
A driving licence and be prepared to travel across the county

The Role
Star Counsellor will have a range of tasks within the team including client one-to-one counselling caseload, help line support, intake screening, developing, and facilitating regular therapeutic psycho-educational group sessions. You will work with the manger to develop a team of Peer Volunteers who will work with you to deliver psychoeducational group sessions. You will be confident and creative to enable you to deliver therapeutic sessions and groups in a range of geographical locations across the south of Hampshire, meeting the needs of the people we work with.

In order to be successful in your application, you will need to meet the following criteria:
You will need
· A counselling qualification at diploma level or above and minimum of three years’ experience working in a client-centred way
· A current BACP membership, and be working within the BACP Ethical Framework
You must have experience of
· Professionally supporting women and men who have experienced current or historic trauma and/or sexual violence; maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
· Undertaking strengths, needs & risk assessments
· Effective multi-agency and partnership working
· Client-centred service delivery and enabling client and volunteer involvement and be able to work as part of a team
You must have knowledge of
· The impact of sexual violence on individuals and communities
· Best practice in relation to safeguarding and confidentiality
· Criminal and civil proceedings relating to sexual violence
· Diversity and inclusion: with an ability to work in a culturally sensitive way
