- Work in a trauma informed way maintaining safety and standards for women and children fleeing domestic abuse

The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Facilities Officer to work within a safe accommodation setting supporting women and children fleeing domestic abuse. As the Facilities Officer, you will be expected to maintain the safety of the building and the flats, carrying out regular health and safety checks including testing the fire alarm and will be expected to liaise with the landlord to arrange repairs and inspections. The Facilities Officer will be responsible for reporting any health and safety concerns to the manager and will work closely with the housekeeping staff to ensure the cleanliness of the building and to check and prepare flats in preparation for new residents moving in.
You will be responsible for ensuring the company van is kept in good order and will also drive the van to various locations including collecting donations. You will carry out minor repairs including tasks such as painting, moving and assembling furniture and work alongside the refuge team to ensure that the residents and their children have a safe and welcoming environment in which to recover from domestic abuse. This is a varied role and you will be expected to respond flexibly to the changing needs of the environment.
