The successful Support Worker will have:
· Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent work experience)
· Experience of working with vulnerable people
· Understanding of promoting independence
· Be flexible and able to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays (and sleep-ins/waking night shifts if required)

The Role
The essence of this role is listening to people, understanding people, being someone to talk to about any issues, and providing support and encouragement when there are problems. Assisting people with their day to day life, supporting them to make life choices, and achieving independence and their ambitions.
The people we support are looking for someone who is happy with a good sense of humour to work with them to achieve what they need when they need it. Their interests are wide and varied and include gardening, going to the cinema, going out for meals and lots of different leisure activities. They also want someone who is considerate when supporting with personal care and medication, able to offer cooking support and help to prevent the build up of debt through support with finances. They want a hardworking, polite, friendly and respectful person to do these things with.
About You
Our Support Workers need to have:
· Experience of enabling people to achieve positive outcomes
· Understanding of the importance of completing paperwork such as support plans and risk assessments
· Understanding of the needs of people with a learning disability
· Knowledge of available benefits
· Ability to support clients with daily living skills
· Good communication skills: verbal, non verbal, and written
· Understanding of confidentiality and how this applies to clients
