It’s Volunteer Week 2024, and we’re saying thank you to Debbie!
Debbie is a volunteer pilot for our Cycling Without Age service. She has been a regular pilot since the very beginning! Debbie recently won an “Outstanding Achievement Award” from Portsmouth Joggers for all her brilliant work. Part of her prize was £250 to go towards the charity of her choice. Guess who she chose? Yup! You guessed right, she our Cycling Without Age Portsmouth and Hayling Island Chapter.
For those of you who know Debbie, you will know how much she deserves this award. Debbie does so much for the Community. She pilots our bikes and ensures our passengers are safe. She coordinates Shivery Bites, which is a wild swimming group. And even runs an outdoor functional fitness class!
Despite having her own health challenges, Debbie is passionate about helping others live a healthy, joyful life. Debbie inspires people with her approach to healthy living and amazing attitude. She is so much fun to be around, and we’re so grateful to have her as part of our team of volunteers.
Oh, and she’s just done a fundraiser for us, raising more than £1,400 but we’ll save that for another post! Thank, you Debbie for everything you do #volunteerweek
As you probably just saw, we’re running a fundraiser to keep our Cycling Without Age service going. If you’d like to help out, please donate or get involved in volunteer fundraising!
