The Warnford Close garden makeover was carried out at our residence that helps people with mental health issues. Being able to go outside in the summer is a powerful tool that is proven to help with mental health. We just needed some support to get the garden into shape. Which is where the team from Cotality stepped in!
Every year, Cotality (formerly CoreLogic) hosts a volunteering day as part of their Cotality Cares initiative. This year. we were fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the organisations they wanted to support. We connected with their team through a Cams Estate Networking event, which led to them helping us transform the Warnford Close garden for those we support to enjoy. Cotality has also generously donated Christmas shoeboxes in previous years, another great example of their ongoing commitment to supporting the community.
The day began with grey skies and lots of rain, but the team were not put off. Sean, Jenny, Jenna, Ellie, and Wojciech tackled the challenge head-on, refusing to let the dreary weather dampen their spirits. Their mission was simple; transform Warnford Garden into something for summer!

Garden work
At the back of the garden, Sean, Jenny, and Ellie took on the overgrown, rock-hard patch of land. Its soil dried out from weeks of sunshine, littered with enough bricks and stones to build a small barn. Undeterred, they pushed forward, refusing to let the tough conditions slow them down. Jenny even called in reinforcements, borrowing her mum’s pickaxe, which proved to be very much needed. Thank you, Jenny’s mum!
Meanwhile, Jenna and Wojciech took on the garden gazebo. They began with the icky task of clearing away thick cobwebs and unwelcome eight-legged residents. There were only a few shrieks…
With the space cleared, they spent countless hours painting. It then started to rain, again. Which gave them a chance to reflect on what they were doing. And hope that the rain wouldn’t wash away their work!
Other than a well-earned break for lunch and tea, they worked tirelessly throughout the day. Thanks to their efforts, the next phase is ready to begin. That will consist of planting flowers, herbs, and vegetables with the residents. Turning the garden into a thriving, beautiful space.
To each and every one of you, we are incredibly grateful. Your hard work, resilience, and dedication have made all the difference. Thank you, all. And of course, Jenny’s mum!
