Freda wanted to know about a power of attorney, her mother’s health had deteriorated and she was worried about her mum’s mortgage and how she would continue to live. The advisor talked about two types of power of attorney and how such power can be granted and what forms needed to be completed and who would need to sign them.
We advised to contact the mortgage provider and then went on to discuss credits and other allowances and how caring for her mother was impacting on her own job. The advisor suggested looking at a carer’s allowance, the criteria and how to apply and also talked about Age UK and Admiral Nurses. Freda was so thankful to have someone to speak to and to get the information she needed.
