Donating to a charity is a wonderful gift. It’s an action that can have a direct impact on the lives of others; often people you won’t ever meet. We get small donations from lovely people each month. It might be £5, or £10, but it all goes towards helping those who need it.
For example, we support people escaping domestic abuse through our PARAGON services and the refuges/safe houses they run. Donating just £20 to a refuge/safehouse will buy a welcome pack for a family that consists of toiletries and other important items.
Below are a range of options for donating. Whichever you choose, we want to let you know that it counts, and it matters. Thank you.
Donate
The work that we do helps to change lives, and we work with thousands of people each year. You can help us to do more by donating. It can be a one-time or recurring donation, and it’ll support our general work or a specific service. You decide.
Refuges/shelters
We work with women and their children who are victims of domestic abuse. One of the ways in which we support is to provide safe accommodation in refuges.
While they are with us and depending on their needs, we support them with housing, the criminal justice system, social care and education and health. These families will stay with us until suitable safe accommodation is found. Many have had to leave everything behind.
Examples of what donations can buy:
£20
- new toiletries for a mother and two children
- cooking activities with children
- paint and paper for craft activities
- plant, flower and vegetable seeds for children to plant in the gardens
- new bedding/towels
£50
- subsidise activities for mums to take children on a trip during the school holidays
- provide resources for the children’s Adverse Childhood Experiences Course
- vouchers for a week’s food
- Clothing
Whatever you choose, it’ll be hugely appreciated and will have a positive impact on a vulnerable person’s life.
Cycling Without Age
Our popular Postsmouth and Hayling Island service wants to expand. The only way for us to do that is to raise funds. We have a fund brochuer you can download with information on how you can do this.
If you would prefer to send a cheque, you can post it to:
The YOU Trust Delme 1, Delme Place, Cams Hall Estate, Fareham, Hampshire, P016 8UX
Please remember to include a covering letter stating how you want it spent.
Corporate Partnerships
We value our partnerships and connections with local companies and understand the power they have to help their communities. Many companies use their influence to help improve social and environmental issues. And as a consequence, people increasingly want to work for or buy from them.
We work with originations like RiskSTOP, Zurich Insurance, and Lightning Safety Systems because they all have the same desire to help others.
We believe that by working together, we can get more done. There are many ways that businesses can partner with us. These might be:
- corporate sponsorship of services
- offering time of staff for volunteer days
- giving their time and expertise
- fundraising events
- raising money for hampers
In return, we can offer businesses:
- a place for their staff to volunteer/shadow
- our expertise in the support sector
- training in areas like accessibility or domestic abuse
- Workshops, like our Dragonfly Workshops
- e-learning

Fundraising
People in England love to get involved in a good cause. Fundraising and donations like our Seasonal Cheer Campaign, have helped vulnerable people from West Sussex to Somerset receive essential items and gifts during the festive season.
In Somerset, a team of aspiring astronauts climbed stairs to the height of the International Space Station! The money they raised has refurbished a whole room to become a children’s centre in one of our refuges.
If you’d like to fundraise for us, you can read the Fund Rasing Regulator’s Code of Conduct here
Legacy
Leaving a legacy gift in your will to YOU is an extraordinary gesture and a wonderful way to help us continue our work changing lives across our communities. We have been deeply moved to learn the stories of those who have sown the seeds of hope with these planned gifts, brightening the future of those whom they will never know.
