The Learning and Development team provide a wide range of services. These include:
- training services for staff
- maintain training records
- offer personal development, reviews and inductions
When you join us, we start thinking about how we can help you develop your career. Each of our mandatory training programmes is tailored to your role, no matter what service you decide to enter. You will only ever do training that is relevant and useful to you.
Sometimes, certain skills require specialised training. In these cases, we will work closely with you to identify the qualification or apprenticeships most suitable after successful completion of your probation period.
With your manager’s agreement, and if it benefits your role, you might aim for an aspirational goal. This might include training that will eventually lead you to a position with more responsibilities, like a step into management position.
You learn and develop your skills using our award-winning Learning Management System provided by My Learning Cloud. All our staff, volunteers and bank workers have access to more than 100 e-learning courses.
These range from Cyber Security to Personal Development and everything in between.
Alongside My Learning Cloud, you will have access to our webinars, face-2-face workshops and qualifications or apprenticeships. All for free during your working hours.

Induction Standards and Qualifications
In the first 12 weeks of joining, we’ll support you to complete the Care Certificate. They are a requirement for everyone working in the social care sector.
All our colleagues working in Care and Support have access to our award winning apprenticeship programme. Here are a few examples of what you have to choose from:
- Adult Care Worker, Level 2
- Lead Adult Care Worker, Level 3
- Lead Practitioner in Adult Care, Level 4
- Leader in Adult Care, Level 5
The option to do a Care Certificate means that anyone can start a career in the social care sector.
