Into Work is a service based in Portsmouth that helps place people who are autistic or neurodivergent into jobs. Tristan was referred to our Into Work service because he wanted to find a volunteer role in retail.
Our service supports enthusiastic people, like Tristan, in a variety of ways. These include:
- interview practice
- creating a CV
- work expectations
- travel training
Once he was matched to an appropriate, voluntary organisation, we gave Tristan support for the interview, which went well. Support like this must continue once someone gets a placement, to make sure and needs are met. Which is why we continued to offer support until he was comfortable and felt happily independent.
Tristan has been volunteering at Stella’s Voice Charity shop for over six months now, which is brilliant!
