Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week is a brilliant time to think about doing an apprenticeship. They’re free, and they can help you plan your future dreams, right today. To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’ve asked our team to tell us why they enjoy doing them. Today, we spoke with Martin.
Why did you do your apprenticeship?
I decided to do the apprenticeship to gain a level 3 diploma as I don’t presently have any qualifications in social care.
What is the biggest thing you learnt doing it?
So far, the greatest thing I have learnt is about diabetes, and how to support people with learning disabilities to manage their diagnosis.
How has it helped in your day-to-day work?
I have found so far that doing the diploma makes me more mindful of why I do what I do. There are so many things we do in our day-to-day jobs that are second nature. And they have a positive impact on the people we support.
How do you think it will help with your future?
I plan to move forward in my career. I’m looking to be promoted to deputy within my place of work and want to work towards becoming manager in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to speak with us Martin, and we hope you reach your dreams!
