About The YOU Trust
About The YOU Trust
The YOU Trust is a charity working in Hampshire and Dorset who for over 30 years has been providing flexible care, support and advice services centred on the people we support.
Last year (2016/17) we provided support to over 28,000 people in such specialist areas as Homelessness, Learning Disabilities, Domestic Violence and Abuse, Mental Health, Older Persons, Young People and Advice Services.
We are an organisation of passionate and determined people who want to make a difference.
Our vision is for everyone who is in need of our advice, care and support to have the tools and resources they need for their journey towards the life they want.
YOU provides people with the help they need to realise their dreams of independence, security, stability, happiness and freedom. We help people in our communities who need care, support and advice due to poverty, homelessness, disability, age, ill health or abuse to have the life they want.
We have 5 key values running through our organisation influencing everything we do, they are: Person-Centred, Trustworthy, Excellence, Innovative and being Can-do.
How our organisation is run
We are governed by a Board of Trustees who are responsible for directing how we as a charity are run, help us to make sure we are achieving what we set out to accomplish as part of our mission, and decide future plans for the charity. Our Trustees are an integral part of our charity as they ensure we strive for best practice through regular visits to all our services; attend Board and Committee meetings to share their specialist knowledge; and review our policies and procedures to ensure we are functioning within the legal and financial requirements of a charity.
The Trust Board meets every quarter to undertake the business of the charity. We also have several Committees to specifically focus on different aspects of the charity’s work. The Committees are as follows:
- Trust Executive Committee
- Remuneration Committee
- Finance and Commercial Committee
- Organisational Development Committee
- Performance & Quality Monitoring Committee
